How it works
-
1
Enter the details
subject, grade, topic and available materials.
-
2
The AI generates
the full plan: objectives, procedures, differentiation and assessment.
-
3
Review and edit
copy or print and tailor it to your class.
What does it do? You type the subject, grade and topic (or a Common Core standard); in under a minute you get a full lesson plan — SWBAT objective, warm-up, direct instruction, guided and independent practice, differentiation and an exit ticket — that you can edit and print. One free generation per tool, no card.
What's in every lesson plan
- Objective (SWBAT) tied to the standard you enter
- Materials and vocabulary
- Procedure with timing: hook/warm-up, I do, we do, you do, closure
- Differentiation for support, on-level and extension (ELL and IEP-friendly)
- Assessment: checks for understanding and an exit ticket
Pick your format: 5E, Madeline Hunter or Gradual Release
5E (Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, Evaluate) works well for science and inquiry. Madeline Hunter (anticipatory set, objective, input, modeling, checking for understanding, guided and independent practice, closure) fits skills lessons. Gradual Release (I do, we do, you do) is the default for literacy and math. Write the format in the topic field and the plan follows it.
Example: a 4th grade fractions lesson
Short sample of an output. Standard: CCSS 4.NF.A.2. SWBAT compare two fractions with different denominators using benchmarks and fraction strips. Warm-up (5 min): "Which is bigger, 1/2 or 3/8? Prove it." I do (10 min): model with fraction strips and the 1/2 benchmark. We do (10 min): pairs compare 3 pairs of fractions. You do (15 min): worksheet with 6 comparisons and one word problem. Differentiation: strips for support; three-fraction ordering for extension. Exit ticket: compare 2/3 and 5/8 and explain why.
Frequently asked questions
What is the AI Lesson Plan Generator?
It's a tool that drafts a complete lesson plan from the subject, grade and topic: objectives (SWBAT), procedures, differentiation and assessment, ready for you to review and edit. Aligned to Common Core and state standards.
Does it align to Common Core and state standards?
Yes. Type the standard (for example CCSS 4.NF.A.2) or the topic, and the plan is built around it. The AI does not invent standard codes: if you don't give one, it marks where to add it.
Can it differentiate for ELLs and students with IEPs?
Yes. Every plan includes a differentiation section (support, on-level and extension) and you can add accommodations from a student's IEP in the materials or objective field. Use initials only — no full names.
Can I edit, print or export the plan?
Yes. The plan is plain text you can edit, copy, print, or download as a Word file from your account.
Can I choose the lesson plan format?
You can request formats like 5E, Madeline Hunter or Gradual Release (I do / We do / You do) right in the topic or objective field, and the AI will structure it accordingly.
Is it free?
Yes, to try: a free account (no card) includes one trial generation in every AI tool. Unlimited generation is part of the Pluma subscription ($14.99/month), which you can cancel anytime.
